This last show of the year was pretty much my worst ever. The kind of show that makes you doubt your abilities, philosophy, and career path. The kind of show that makes you wonder if there's someone out there with a you-shaped voodoo doll.

Every time this happens (which fortunately isn't often), I start a cycle of "what should I be doing differently" and the answer is "nothing." Because this is what I want to do, and therefore I'm doing it. Buy it or don't. Award it or don't. I'm still doing it.

Building amorphous slab platters, which were then painted with azabache slip and carved.

Completely forgetting how to throw. Though it is possible this high grog clay is to blame...
